$500,000 For Palliative Care

THREE University of Newcastle researchers have been awarded $500,000 for research into palliative care.
The National Health and Medical Research Council grants were awarded to Professor Afaf Girgis and research officers Claire Johnson and Amy Waller, to help develop tools to improve quality of life for people facing serious or complex illnesses. Professor Girgis, from the School of Medicine and Public Health, will develop a consumer tool kit for specialist palliative care services.
